Seeing how I've recently 'lost' another source of income, I've been trying to find another way to look for a way of getting money. Of course, legally...

Some of Indonesian friends are holding this Art Market + event in September, and I've challenged myself and decided to hire a stall there. I've split the cost of the table with another good friend of mine, Janice.

I think I'm gonna name our table, Hanice & Candie. That's a typo for both of our names and also a mock name for the famous Hamish and Andy, who are awesome btw.

So we'll be selling badges, pretty fabric flower brooches and some bookmarks. And if time permits, we'll make some phone charms together.

Anyways, entry fee for the event would be $5 per head.

There will be some stalls, art exhibitions, band performances and heaps of art and fun! So come join us :)

So yes, I have been wanting to get a tattoo for a while now.. but being the fussy me, I couldn't decide what I want on. Went researching and stumbled across this.

I think it was an awesome idea. I should maybe just do this :)

City lights' Life is Wonderful

After my last essay last year, I've drawn a lot to street art. Just couldn't seem to not notice it now.. I always find myself staring at the graffiti on the walls when I'm in the train, constantly looking for the name of the artist. See who's tagging what, which group did the massive black and white poster, and which ones ruined it.. lol

And so naturally, when i came across this website... It was instant love bookmark in my browser. I hope you enjoy it as well.

I wish I had the patience to do them. I haven't drawn anything in AGES. As in, other than uni stuff, I haven't done crap. Kinda makes me sad, coz I used to draw a lot, and they were my therapy..

Anyways, these pictures were taken few weeks ago in Hosier lane, when few of my friends decided to paint there.

Just thought I'd sum up everything I've done this semester in this post.

Brief 1 - Visual Noise

First brief was, to be honest, done really fast. I did experimentation with the effects in Illustrator in classes and on my free time, but I didn't really document them. So I submitted the very first scratch pad that I did in class, since that's the only one I had with me. I like to use texture, and I never knew I cold use texture in Illustrator, so I think I might have over did it..

Brief 2 - Visual Fiction

I have a little obsession for sheep. And thought this would be a fun thing to do as a concept. I stamped-tool a LOT, and for some bits on the edge I re-painted the fur.

Brief 3 - Transition

I've missed few classes during this project, so I had a little hard time using After Effects, but I think I've managed alright. Rotating was fun to do. My original idea was to have a singing vocal too, but I realized synching them would be so damn hard, so I didn't.

Brief 4 - Type based Animation

Finally, last brief. Text based animation. My original idea was just to have the text flipping around the screen and have the background changes colour, but during the process, they started to hurt my eyes, so I didn't end up flashing the backgrounds. I did the dots instead and synch them with the music beats. The first 2 dots were meant to be the piano, the middle one was bass/guitar (and maybe a bit of the vocal) and the last two on the right are for the random strings. I really like the simplicity of this piece, I know it's not anything fancy about the text but I think I've fulfilled what I wanted to do with this brief. That is, if this video made you feel at least the tiniest bit of goodness.

Anyone familiar with this artist's work?

I came across to her work a while ago, from a friend's display picture in MSN. Went to stalk her LiveJournal for a while until she closed it down and moved to her official site. :)

Then few weeks ago, I bought the Curvy magazine and one of her work was featured there. Made me go back and look through her stuff again.

Here are some of my favourite work of her.

I would describe her style as feminine and subtle ~~and sort of playful?~~ I like the way she always uses animals in her work; the interaction between the human figure and the animals are somewhat interesting hehe.
